How do I receive my certificate once I pass the exam?

If you have taken and passed both exams, please check the candidate handbook for specific information on your state's registry. If you need to renew your certification in PA, SC, or for a DC nurse aide, please log into your account and navigate to the registry tab to apply for renewal.

What is the CNA State Registry?

The CNA State Registry is an official list of certified nurse aides (CNAs) who are authorized to work in a specific state. When you pass your stateโ€™s CNA exam and meet all certification requirements, your name and certificate number are added to your stateโ€™s Nurse Aide Registry.
You can use the registry to:

  • Verify your CNA certification status
  • Find your certificate number (license number)
  • Ensure your certification is active
  • Provide proof of eligibility for employment

Note: Employers often require your license number from the CNA State Registry to confirm active certification and eligibility for hire.

To locate your registry, search for your state CNA Registry below or select your State Nursing Board Registries to view your license status.

Click the link below to visit your stateโ€™s CNA Registry or Nursing Board Registries, where you can check your certification status and find your CNA certificate (including license number).
