How many exam attempts can I take?

Credentia allows exam retakes if you failed either the Written (or Oral) or Skills exam.

If you fail the Written (or Oral) Exam or the Skills Evaluation, you will need to retake the exam that you failed. The state selection and eligibility route determine the number of attempts and timeframe. For eligibility routes, refer to the table below to check for your state.

Note

  1. You are not allowed to retake an exam before receiving your exam results.
  2. If you exceed the attempt limit and timeframe defined by your state, you will be required to undergo a state-approved training program.
  3. After successfully completing the training, you must again take both the Written or Oral and Skill Exam.
  4. Based on the state selection and its federal regulation, the eligibility route rules will differ.
  5. Refer to your state handbook to review your eligibility route.
